The Digital Centre for Knowledge, Innovation & Entrepreneurship of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of the Aegean- UAegean-Eng Future Lab (UAegean-Eng FL). located in Syros, aims to be the local hub for innovative educational practices with a special focus on digital skills, creative & critical thinking. UAegean-Eng Future Lab is a physical and virtual meeting and collaboration space for the community of the School of Engineering of the University of Aegean in Syros and the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering, with the local community and visitors of the island, schools, public institutions, professional organizations and businesses. The Future Lab is an open space, contributing to the familiarization with digital technologies and their use (from the simplest to virtual/augmented/mixed reality, robotics, internet of things, 3D printing, etc.). Most importantly, UAegean-Eng Future Lab is a living laboratory space to learn, explore, apply, test, and evaluate creative ways of transforming research and education.
The Digital Centre for Knowledge, Innovation & Entrepreneurship of the Faculty of Engineering is housed on the ground floor of the reconstructed building of the former Kornilaki Tannery and has recently achieved an important distinction, as it received the Future Classroom Lab by European SchoolNet membership mark.
